MLK Mentor Program
Mentor: n. trusted counselor or guide. Tutor, coach. A wise, loyal advisor. The University can be an overwhelming experience for incoming first-year students. The MLK program is interested in providing you with a smooth transition from high school life to University life – it is important for your first encounters at the University of Minnesota to be rewarding. By pairing you with a more experienced, knowledgeable mentor, we hope that the transition process to such a new and different environment is easier, more welcoming, and as a result, more rewarding. A successful mentor/mentee relationship can help you succeed at the University of Minnesota!

Student Activities Office
Join a group! More than 600 student groups are registered with SAO, including academic societies, cultural centers, sports clubs, polticial action groups, and fraternities and sororities.

Commuter and Nontraditional Students
Getting involved is a great way to meet people and feel part of the campus community.
